“Food Angel’s Event: TCG Community Care Service”

On 21 Nov 2024, TCG staff from the HSQE, IT, HR and PA teams came together for a meaningful event. In collaboration with the charity group Food Angel to organize a volunteer service at the Chai Wan community kitchen. The goal was to raise awareness about food waste and poverty challenges in Hong Kong.

Government statistics reveal that despite being a well-developed city, a significant portion of Hong Kong’s population lacks access to sufficient food. Conversely, Hong Kong generates a massive 980 tonnes of food waste daily. TCG as a Caring Company, we would like to make a positive impact in communities by addressing food waste and poverty issues.

TCG volunteers successfully packed a total of 2,410 meal boxes from 9;30 AM to noon. The meal boxes were promptly delivered to elderly individuals living alone and underprivileged families on the same day. The event has motivated TCG volunteers to value food, be mindful of their choices, and reduce food waste. Together, we can create a sustainable future where no one goes hungry.
