Inspiring Acts of Kindness One Hot Meal at a Time with Food Angel

Swapping Hard Hats For Aprons To Make A Positive Difference

Late November 2025, the TCG Hong Kong team set aside our usual roles to provide hands-on community care by feeding Hong Kong’s vulnerable communities. We believe that lasting impact stems from leading by example and acknowledging that our success is undeniably linked to the neighbourhoods we serve. In an industry defined by blueprints, our community event was part of our broader social blueprint to build a community that looks out for one another.

How Food Rescue Fuels Corporate Social Responsibility

We believe in partnering with organisations that mirror our own commitment to making a meaningful impact. That is why we collaborated with the Bo Charity Foundation, a registered charity that has been dedicated to supporting Hong Kong’s underprivileged communities since 2009.

Their flagship programme, Food Angel, operates under a powerful mandate: “Waste Not, Hunger Not, With Love”. Launched in 2011, this initiative is a vital food-rescue operation that reduces food waste, aligning with our views on corporate social responsibility.

By rescuing edible surplus food that would otherwise be discarded, Food Angel prepares nutritious meals for the underprivileged. We see a clear parallel between this initiative and our sustainable approach to construction. As we ensure that every resource on our project sites is optimally utilised to avoid waste, we recognise the importance of ensuring no food resource goes to waste.

TCG Takes Over the Food Angel Kitchen

Our day began in the Food Angel central kitchen, where the team arrived eager to play an active role in their daily operations. We spent the morning preparing a high volume of hot meals, focusing on the careful portioning of rice and dishes for the local community. Despite the demanding pace, the atmosphere remained high-spirited, as team members were captured sharing peace signs and smiles.

Following the preparation, our focus moved to the dining hall for the hot meal distribution. We took responsibility for serving these meals and distributing gifts to elderly care recipients, ensuring everyone felt welcomed. These face-to-face interactions provided the most significant impact of the day, with our staff sharing conversations and smiles that bridged the generational gap.

As our Director Terence Chu noted, “By dedicating time and effort to help others, our staff demonstrated compassion and teamwork, which are key values of our company”. Through these simple acts of kindness, we hope to build genuine ties with the Sham Shui Po community.

Redefining Success By Looking At Our Social Impact

Our time with Food Angel in Sham Shui Po served as a powerful reminder that our role in building a better Hong Kong involves both the structures we create and the lives we impact within them. This initiative was about taking ownership of our role as a local business and ensuring that our values translate into a positive impact on our neighbours.

Recognising that our success is tied to the well-being of the city, we believe in taking a proactive approach to making a positive difference across our community. We hope our actions inspire other businesses to look beyond their daily operations and participate in simple acts of kindness that support our local neighbourhoods. Let’s work together if you believe in a partner that recognises the value of hard work and compassion in Hong Kong.
