Building for the future means more than delivering projects. Nurturing the next generation of professionals who will shape the industry is equally important.
This July, we deepened our commitment to youth development through a renewed partnership with the Child Development Initiative Alliance (CDIA) as part of their Youth Work Explorer (Y‑WE) Programme.

Through structured internships, hands-on learning, and mentorship across all levels of our team. We opened our doors to high school students, giving them a first look at the built environment sector, and a clearer sense of what’s possible.
Partnering with CDIA to Build Career Pathways

CDIA is a Hong Kong–based charitable organisation, founded around 2013 by business leaders and community advocates. Its mission is to nurture youth from less privileged backgrounds, such as low-income families, single parents, new immigrants, and ethnic minorities by opening opportunities for workplace exposure and career clarity.
Y‑WE specifically helps participants identify their aspirations, provides foundational training, arranges real‑world placements, and mentor support for students, parents, and employers. Supported by over 450 employers and backed by a validation study from The University of Hong Kong, Y‑WE aligns seamlessly with our own people‑first culture.
How We Equip the Next Generation with Industry Insight
Meaningful internship programmes do more than showcase company culture, they deliver measurable long-term value.
A study involving low-income youths from Hong Kong found that interactions with non-family mentors significantly helped them develop career direction and build greater resilience during the school-to-work transition.
We aim to bring these advantages to life by offering structured, supervised placements that empower and equip youths while diversifying our own talent pipeline.
Throughout the Y‑WE internship, both junior team members and senior staff actively mentored participants, offering technical insight, career advice, and encouragement.

For instance, Ivan, our IT Director, shared his expertise on OROKO during a session on AI‑Powered Construction Waste Management. He explained to students the architecture of OROKO’s data pipeline (covering data ingestion, cloud processing and dashboard visualisation) along with real‑world problem solving techniques like handling noisy sensor data and troubleshooting segmentation errors.
Programmes like Y‑WE are more than a community initiative, they give us an opportunity to demonstrate who we are. By providing young people with direct access to industry knowledge and mentorship, we aim to broaden their opportunities. Throughout this process, we continue to learn to remain open and people-first.
We’re proud to continue supporting CDIA and look forward to building more pathways for youth across Hong Kong to step into their potential!
